Founded in 1929, The Southeast Bronx Neighborhood Centers, Inc. (SEBNC) is one of the oldest community service agencies in the South Bronx and provides services to over 6,000 persons on an annual basis. SEBNC's headquarters is located in the New York City Housing Authority's Forest Houses.

Afterschool Conservation Club


The After School Conservation Club (ASCC), a partnership between UNH, The After School Corporation (TASC) and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), provides environmental education and activities to children in afterschool programs. Students participate in activities that teach them about conservation and carry-out hands-on neighborhood projects. Curriculum topics include adaptation, recycling, human impacts, aquatic life and stewardship ethics. Current neighborhood projects include maintaining butterfly gardens and creating recycling and composting programs.
