Henry Street Settlement

Founded in 1893 by social work and public health pioneer Lillian Wald, Henry Street Settlement delivers a wide range of social service and arts programs to more than 50,000 New Yorkers each year from 17 program sites on Manhattan's Lower East Side.
UNH Members
For over 90 years, UNH and its members - 37 settlement houses throughout New York City - have responded to the changing needs of New York City's communities, providing the services and programs that help children, families and adults lead productive and independent lives. Each year, UNH members, working at more than 400 sites with close to 10,000 staff members and 7,500 volunteers provide services to over half a million New Yorkers.
