Job Description

BronxWorks is hiring a part-time Counselor/Youth Advocate in the Children & Youth Department to support our in-school youth program at Frederick Douglass Academy III.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide overall case management services to enrolled program participants.
  • Perform recruitment and enrollment efforts.
  • Facilitate individual sessions and develop service plans.
  • Host weekly workshops and attend trips offsite.
  • Write case notes to document progress with program participants.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate Degree in education, psychology, social work or another related field of study.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in an educational or community setting.
  • Experience with and knowledge of best practices in youth development, higher education, workforce, retention and career exploration/assessments preferred.
  • Ability to work well with young people, school administrators, community partners and families.
  • Program design, curriculum management and implementation experience.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with different funder goals and deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required.
